I Haven't Fallen Off the Face of the Earth...Yet.

I seem to be holding on for dear life these days! Please forgive me for being such a bad blog writer and not writing anything for a while! I was overtaken by Valentine projects and parties. I have several blog entries lined up about our love fest!

I've also been in project mode. Cleaning out closets, clearing out clutter. SIMPLIFYING. And let me tell you...It feels GOOD!

We have also had sheetrockers working on some of our ceilings for a week now. Life has been crazy and the washer and dryer have been covered in plastic for the whole week. Yesterday, I finally gave in and loaded up my 4 kids plus 5 baskets of laundry (which equaled 10 washer loads at the laundrymat) into the car and dragged them all there with promises of a McDonalds breakfast, a Red Box movie and a less crazy Mom.

I had to get all that laundry done because tomorrow, Grammy is flying in to stay with the kids while Doc and I fly off to sunny FLORIDA *cue the angels singing*! Doc is in SERIOUS need of a mental health break from work. He is stinking busy all the time and any time he is off during the week, but still in town, he gets pages and calls. We have to leave town to get some peace! Sooo...we are meeting some friends and sharing a vacation house on the Gulf of Mexico! It has a heated pool, a boat dock and best of all...NO PAGES FROM THE HOSPITAL!

And I get my husband back for a while! And some peace and quiet. And probably a pedicure. And a haircut! And hopefully, a few good meals with some glasses of wine! And I will stop my list right there before I decide to make it a permanent vacation.

By the way, the house is supposed to have WiFi so I should be able to catch up on some bloggity posts! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Yay!!! So good to hear from you. I kept checking back thinking maybe my blogger thing wasn't giving me updates. (It's happened!)

My husband isn't a doctor but he is on call and gets paged even when it's not his call schedule so I COMPLETELY identify with needing to run away for peace!

It sounds WONderful. Have a terrific time and lift a glass to those of us who won't be on vacation. Enjoy!!

I hope there were no casualties from the ceiling! I cannot imagine your life....as I always tell CJ..."when YOU work overtime I work overtime." If anyone deserves a break....it's you guys! Have fun! And, perhaps I will get to meet your sister....er...your mom.
