Chocolate Gravy Goodness

Along with my Grandma's biscuits, she would serve Chocolate Gravy! Most people snarl their nose up and think it sounds gross...until they try it! It is really easy and really rich!

Here are the ingredients. (The recipe is typed out at the end of the post!)

First, add 3 Tablespoons of cocoa powder to a medium sauce pan.

Next, add 3 Tablespoons of flour.

Then a cup of sugar.

Stir all the dry ingredients together...

until it is uniform in color and texture.

Then add 2 cups of milk...

and stir.

Once you have everything stirred, turn on the heat to medium and keep stirring. It will go from this consistency...

to this consistency...

to this.

Once it is nice and smooth, it will thicken up. You will know it is done when it is thick enough to coat a spoon like this...

Take your Chocolate Gravy and pour it over buttered biscuits. (For the best biscuits ever, make these!)

Admire your work and hope you can get a bite before...

someone steals your plate and devours it!

Ummm...yummy! I never had chocolate gravy after all those years hanging with your family (even a weekend in Ashland!), so I think I'll have to try it!

My grandma would make this exact chocolate gravy when I was little and it was my favorite breakfast / dessert. I too have people look at me funny when I speak of this. Now it is my daughters favorite. She has me make it for all her friends.
